Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Asuransi Kredit Indonesia (Askrindo) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 20 travel agencies in the Central Java region.

The collaboration focuses on the utilisation of personal accident insurance and travel insurance products to provide protection for tourists and travel business operators, with the partnership valid for three years from February 2026.

Askrindo Business Director Budhi Novianto said in a written statement in Jakarta on Monday that the synergy with travel agencies forms part of the company’s commitment to supporting regional economic growth through the tourism sector.

“Central Java’s tourism has enormous potential to continue growing and driving the regional economy. Therefore, through collaboration with travel agencies, Askrindo wishes to support the development of Central Java’s tourism by providing insurance protection,” said Budhi.

He stated that the presence of insurance in the tourism segment is expected to make tourists feel safer and give tourism business operators greater confidence in developing their services.

Through this partnership, Askrindo is providing travel risk protection solutions, including personal accident coverage and medical expenses during travel, enabling tourism industry players to enhance service quality whilst strengthening tourist confidence.

The collaboration is also described as a continuation of efforts to provide tourism insurance protection in Central Java, including a previous partnership with state forestry corporation Perum Perhutani in providing tourism protection in the Blora, Purwodadi, Kendal and Gundih areas.

The partnership between Askrindo and the travel agencies is expected to drive improvements in tourism industry service standards, whereby insurance protection becomes part of the travel packages offered to tourists.

As such, Budhi said, travel agencies will not only provide travel experiences but also security guarantees and risk mitigation during journeys.

Budhi further stated that Askrindo will continue to strengthen collaboration with tourism industry players to enhance protection for tourists whilst supporting the sector’s growth.

“We want insurance protection to become the standard in every tourist journey, so that the tourism industry can grow in a safer, more sustainable and more trusted manner,” said Budhi.
