Jakarta (ANTARA) — PT Asuransi Kredit Indonesia (Askrindo), part of the state-owned holding company for insurance and guarantees, Indonesia Financial Group (IFG), has distributed donations totaling Rp550 million to 550 orphans across Indonesia to mark Ramadan 1447 AH.

Askrindo’s President Director Fankar Umran said the aid was provided to orphans within the company’s surroundings as well as at 13 orphanage foundations in various cities nationwide.

‘The donations comprise school supplies and cash, totalling around Rp550 million,’ Umran told reporters after attending the Ramadan Safari and Iftar with PT Askrindo in Jakarta on Wednesday, 4 March.

He added that the Ramadan Safari, this year’s theme ‘Spirit of the Qur’an: Realising Excellent, Sustainable Performance’, aims to strengthen relationships among individuals both within the company, the community, and the general public.

‘The Ramadan Safari provides an opportunity for us to share happiness and foster ties with the community. Through this activity, Askrindo wants to continue to deliver benefits and nurture a spirit of care amid the Ramadan momentum,’ he said.

Umran stated that the distribution to orphans is also part of a series of events celebrating Askrindo’s 55th anniversary, which falls on 6 April.

Not only for orphans, he noted that the company is also providing educational support, including to Early Childhood Education (PAUD) teachers.

The company also organised a number of other social activities in 11 cities across its operational areas as a form of Corporate Social Responsibility and Environment (TJSL) to extend broader benefits to the public.

Umran said the total budget for the distribution of donations and for running various TJSL programmes in the 55th anniversary series reached Rp1.77 billion.

‘We hope the donations will not only reflect the company’s care but also inspire and bring happiness to orphans as they observe Ramadan. This activity is part of Askrindo’s ongoing effort to contribute sustainably to society,’ he added.
