Jakarta — The Chief Executive Officer of PT Asuransi Kredit Indonesia (Askrindo), Fankar Umran, has urged Indonesians planning to go home for the Idul Fitri holiday to mitigate travel risks by taking out personal accident insurance and microinsurance.

Regarding personal accident insurance, he said policyholders could receive benefits of up to Rp20 million with affordable premiums.

“Personal accident insurance is important, especially during the busy traffic periods around Lebaran,” said Fankar Umran when he spoke after attending the Ramadan Safari and Breaking Fast with PT Askrindo in Jakarta on Wednesday afternoon, 4 March.

He also lamented that many people were still not aware of the importance of possessing such insurance products.

“Get insured against accidents before setting out, because we know that whenever there is a mass mudik, there are always reports of accidents and many incidents,” he noted.

Besides accident risk, Umran reminded the public to mitigate risks related to their homes and business premises that will be left behind during the homecoming to their hometown.

He stated that the company offers Asuransi Mikro Rumahku and Asuransi Mikro Usahaku to protect homes and business premises from the risks of fire, theft, and natural disasters.

Policyholders can receive a payout of Rp2.5 million for a cart, Rp5 million for a stall, and Rp20 million for a home by paying annual premiums of around Rp40,000.

Umran also guaranteed that all policyholder claims would continue to be processed during the upcoming Eid holidays through Askrindo’s system, which remains on standby even during holiday periods.

He said that for Micro Insurance customers who are micro-entrepreneurs nurtured by state-owned enterprises, government agencies, or Alfamart, claims can be filed through the institutions that mentor them. Meanwhile for other customers, claims can be processed via Call Center 1500-405, email care@askrindo.co.id, or WhatsApp 0851-7987-7515.

“If an accident occurs, there is a fire problem, or an earthquake, and so on, the claim payment will be provided in cash directly within around five days,” said Fankar.
