Askes earns Rp 60.5 billion
JAKARTA (JP): The health insurance company, PT Asuransi Kesehatan (PT Askes), which caters to civil servants and employees of private companies, posted Rp 60.5 billion (US$25.5 million) in profits by the end of 1996, its financial director said.
Priyono Ansari told Antara news agency in Dili, East Timor that the company provided health insurance to 16 million civil servants and employees of private companies.
He said this year, the company tried to improve its efficiency because health insurance costs would continue to rise while the premium from clients would remain at 2 percent of their salaries.
Ansari was in Dili to install Benyamin Wailandau as new chief of the company's branch in East Timor.
Wailandau was previously head of the company's branch in Bogor, West Java.
