Asian women expect to improve

KUALA LUMPUR: Asia's four representative at this year's
Women's World Cup in the United States will produce the
continent's best-ever performance, a top official said Friday.

"The quality of the four Asian teams is much higher than in
previous years," Peter Velappan, Asian Football Confederation
(AFC) secretary-general said in a statement.

"We expect all four teams to do well, although North Korea
face strong opponents in Group A," he added. --AFP
