Asian retailers plan RI expo

JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian Retail Merchants Association (Aprindo) will host the 10th Asian Retailers Convention and Exhibition (ARCE) in Jakarta in September this year.

The biennial event will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center with about 1,500 delegations from across Asia and the Pacific expected to attend, the association said in a statement.

Some 180 national and multinational companies are expected to participate in the exhibition, which will run from Sept. 3 to Sept. 6.

President Abdurrahman Wahid is expected to open the convention half of the event on Sept. 4, Aprindo said.

The convention will feature 33 speakers discussing the latest retail systems and related technologies. (tnt)
