Asian Cup soccer squad announced

JAKARTA (JP): Indonesian national soccer team coach Nandar Iskandar announced on Tuesday that 25 players would join the 12th Asian Cup squad. The Cup will be held from Oct. 12 to Oct. 29 in Beirut, Lebanon.

The team will start the centralized training program next Monday, Nandar said, adding that he would reduce the number of players to 20 prior to the Cup.

"The team will fight the Qatar team here on June 16 and probably the Singapore soccer team in Batam on June 22. We are still arranging the schedule for the latter," he told a media briefing. Nandar will be assisted by Dananjaya.

The players are: I Komang Putra, Hendro Kartiko and Sahari Gultom (goalkeepers); Nuralim, Sugiantoro, Eko Purjianto, Slamet Riyadi, Warsidi, J. Donald Laala and Dulla Baa (defenders); Ismed Sofyan, Anang Ma'aruf, Ortizan Salosa, Aji Santoso, Bima Sakti, Uston Nawawi, Imran Nahumarury, Francis Wewengkang, Seto Nurdiantoro, Yaris Riadi and Eli Aiboi (midfielders); Bambang Pamungkas, Gendut Doni, Rocky Puttiray and Martin Tao (strikers).
