Asian ad spending to grow faster
SINGAPORE: Asian advertising expenditures, driven by China, India and Indonesia, will likely grow faster than previously expected, a survey showed on Tuesday.
Conducted by ZenithOptimedia, the findings forecast 7.1 percent growth this year, 6.8 percent next year and 7.3 percent in 2007.
"The forecasts reflect growing confidence that this level of rapid growth will be sustained", the report from the media services agency said.
The Asia-Pacific's share of global ad spending will rise from 20.2 per cent last year to 20.8 per cent in 2008 as a result of the emerging markets of China, India and Indonesia, the survey report said.
Last year's 7.8 per cent vigorous growth in the Asian advertising scene was above the global rate of about 6 percent.
Singapore does not have the same potential for growth as the rest of Asia, the report said, with the mood more restrained. --DPA
