Asia-Pacific postal seminar
JAKARTA (JP): Directorate General of Post and Telecommunications and the state-owned postal service PT Pos Indonesia will hold a seminar on Asia-Pacific's postal services on July 28 and July 29, 2005.
Director General of Post and Telecommunications Djakaria Purawidjaja said yesterday that the seminar, "Information Technology for Postal Services", would be held at Pos Indonesia's headquarters in Bandung, West Java.
He said Minister of Tourism, Post and Telecommunications Joop Ave and Deputy Director General of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) M. Mazou were scheduled to open the event.
Other speakers will include secretary-general of the ministry Jonathan L. Parapak, chairman of the Council of Administration (CA) Young-su Kwon, Pos Indonesia's director Sumitro Roestam and chairman of the Indonesian Association of Courier Companies (Asperindo) Rudy J. Pesik.
Some 350 participants from at least 12 nations are expected to attend the seminar. (icn)
