NEW YORK (AFX): Asian online advertising in November totaled
an estimated US$166.297 million, according to a report by AdZone
Interactive, an advertising research firm that tracks advertising
on over 125,000 sites worldwide.
Comparative figures were not provided as this was the
company's first report on online advertising in Asia. For
purposes of this study, AdZone said it covered advertising
spending in China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, South Korea,
Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.
Sohu.com was the number one ranked website in Asia in
November, with an estimated revenue of $38 million. Cis.com.cn
and chinaren.com were number two and three at $26.7 million and
$21.5 million, respectively, AdZone said in a statement.
The top advertised brand was compaq.com.cn, with an estimated
advertising value of $38.2 million, followed by media999.com
which received advertising of 27.1 million. The third top brand,
chinabba.com.cn, had a significantly lower budget, estimated at
$6.7 million.
