Residents in Bandar Lampung, Lampung, have reported volcanic ashfall consisting of fine, dark-coloured dust since Saturday night (5/9/2026). The ash has covered residential floors and is obstructing visibility for motorists.

Many residents have complained about the exposure to volcanic dust clinging to their vehicles and clothing. Several parked vehicles were observed heavily covered in volcanic ash.

Furthermore, the wind-borne volcanic ash has also coated the emergency staircases of a hotel in Lampung.

In response to this phenomenon, the Bandar Lampung Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has issued an official advisory urging the public to increase vigilance against the dangers of volcanic ash exposure. There are concerns that the wind-driven ash distribution could reduce air quality, shorten visibility, and trigger acute respiratory infections (ISPA).

The Bandar Lampung City Government has requested that the public remain calm, avoid panic, and only monitor information updates through official government channels.
