ASEAN+3 meeting held in Laos

LAOS: Officials from 10 ASEAN member countries and three North-
East Asian countries gathered at a meeting in Vientiane, Laos, on
Thursday to review preparations for the upcoming 10th ASEAN+3
Summit, scheduled to take place here in November.

Participants to the meeting also reviewed the results of
cooperation between ASEAN and the three countries - China, Japan
and the Republic of Korea - over the past year.

They discussed cooperation plans in the future, including a
plan to promote free trade in Southeast Asia.

In addition, ASEAN informed its three partners of the main
content of the Vientiane Action Program expected to be approved
