ASEAN+3 meeting held in Laos

LAOS: Officials from 10 ASEAN member countries and three North- East Asian countries gathered at a meeting in Vientiane, Laos, on Thursday to review preparations for the upcoming 10th ASEAN+3 Summit, scheduled to take place here in November.

Participants to the meeting also reviewed the results of cooperation between ASEAN and the three countries - China, Japan and the Republic of Korea - over the past year.

They discussed cooperation plans in the future, including a plan to promote free trade in Southeast Asia.

In addition, ASEAN informed its three partners of the main content of the Vientiane Action Program expected to be approved at the summit. -- Antara
