ASEAN to hold emergency meeting
PHILIPPINES: The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is expected to hold an emergency meeting to discuss a possible U.S.-led war in Iraq, a Philippine official said on Tuesday.
Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Blas Ople said the meeting would be held "as soon as there are signs of an outbreak of war in the next few weeks".
He said that Cambodia would be the host.
Among ASEAN members, the Philippines has been the most vocal supporter of Washington's campaign to disarm Saddam Hussein's regime of weapons of mass destruction. --DPA
