ASEAN Summit in the Philippines: Prabowo Attends Retreat Session in Domestic Maung Vehicle

Jakarta - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto attended a series of events at the 48th ASEAN Summit in Cebu, Philippines, on Friday (8/5/2026), riding in a domestically produced Maung vehicle. Observations from the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel showed Prabowo once again riding in the Maung vehicle as he attended the ASEAN Summit retreat session this afternoon. Upon disembarking from the vehicle, the Head of State immediately entered the venue for the retreat session. During this moment, Prabowo even gave a thumbs-up to one of the attending ASEAN state leaders. As the event began, the ASEAN country leaders started the proceedings with a group photo session. After the group photo session concluded, the President of Indonesia had a brief conversation with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet. The two appeared to converse amicably with each other. This morning, Prabowo also attended the opening of the 48th ASEAN Summit riding in the Maung vehicle. Prabowo himself arrived in the Philippines since Thursday (7/5/2026). Previously, the President of Indonesia also participated in the BIMP-EAGA Special Summit, or Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA), which is part of the 48th ASEAN Summit series in Cebu, Philippines.
