ASEAN official to visit India

JAKARTA (JP): The Secretary-General of the Association of
Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Ajit Singh, is heading of 40-
member delegation to India for a meeting of the ASEAN-India Joint
Sectoral Cooperation Committee

The Committee meeting will convene Monday for five days in
New Delhi and Goa. This is the second such dialog since the India
and ASEAN began their sectoral dialog relations in 1993.

The meeting is expected to find ways on enhancing trade and
investment relations between India and ASEAN member states who
will be represented by their respective director generals and
senior officials of ASEAN affairs.

Also participating in the meeting will be members of the
ASEAN-India Business Council (AIBC). (mds)
