ASEAN ministers meet in Hanoi

HANOI (AFP): Transport and communications ministers from the
Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will meet here
Wednesday to adopt a five-year action plan into the next
millennium, the transport ministry said.

The fifth regional conference of its type is due to study and
adopt the plan for transports and communications from 1999 to
2004.

An accord on road networks is due to be signed along, while
protocols on the transit of goods between the 10-members are due
to be ratified.

ASEAN groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia,
Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
