ASEAN envoys meet President

JAKARTA: President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono received on Monday nine ambassadors of member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), who paid him a courtesy call for the first time since his inauguration as President on Oct. 20.

Attending the meeting were Ambassador Edward Lee of Singapore, Ambassador Khem Bunneang of Cambodia, Ambassador Haji Mohd. Amin bin Pehin of Brunei, Ambassador Leuane Sombonnkhan of Laos, Ambassador U Kyaw Myint of Myanmar, Ambassador Datok Hamidon Ali of Malaysia, Ambassador Nguyen Hoang An of Vietnam, Ambassador Atchara Seriputra of Thailand and Ambassador Shulan O Primavera of the Philippines.

Indonesian foreign minister Hassan Wirayuda was also present.

ASEAN comprises 10 member countries, including Indonesia. -- Antara
