ASEAN Dengue Day 2026: Theme and Messages for Its 15 June Commemoration

ASEAN Dengue Day will once again be observed on 15 June 2026. The annual commemoration serves as a moment for ASEAN member states to raise public awareness regarding the prevention and control of dengue, which remains a health challenge in the region. This year, ASEAN Dengue Day carries a theme highlighting the importance of collaboration amongst all parties to achieve the target of zero dengue deaths by 2030. The theme for ASEAN Dengue Day 2026, referring to the official ASEAN website and a statement from the ASEAN Health Cluster 2, is ‘ASEAN United: Zero Dengue Deaths - A Future We Build Together by 2030’. This theme affirms the commitment of ASEAN countries to jointly achieve the target of zero dengue deaths by 2030. Through this theme, ASEAN also encourages strengthened cooperation between governments, health workers, the private sector, civil society organisations, and the wider community. According to ASEAN, this year’s campaign aims to increase awareness whilst strengthening collaboration in sustainable dengue prevention and control efforts. ASEAN Dengue Day is an annual commemoration held every 15 June to increase attention on the threat of dengue in the Southeast Asian region. The establishment of ASEAN Dengue Day originated from a resolution at the 10th ASEAN Health Ministers Meeting held in Singapore on 22 July 2010. Through that agreement, 15 June was designated as the regional commemorative day for dengue. This commemoration also serves as a platform to strengthen cooperation amongst ASEAN member states in addressing the challenges of dengue, which continues to impact public health in the region. According to ASEAN, ASEAN Dengue Day 2026 acts as a means for sharing knowledge and experience amongst public health professionals and various stakeholders. This year’s campaign also encourages the implementation of an integrated approach to the surveillance, prevention, and control of dengue. These efforts include strengthening disease and vector surveillance, rapid response to cases, and improving the quality of health services. Additionally, ASEAN stresses the importance of accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, and sound clinical management to reduce the risk of death from dengue.
