ASEAN-6 Gross Domestic Product Expected to Grow 4.9% This Year – detikFinance
ASEAN-6 GDP growth in 2026 is projected to be around 4.9%. Grace Lim, Senior ASEAN and Asia Economist at UBS Investment Bank Global Research, notes that the region’s economic fundamentals remain solid and the expansion is steady.
Grace says Southeast Asia continues to benefit from deeper integration into the global manufacturing value chain, supported by a large domestic market base.
‘Growth conditions remain intact, with household consumption the main driver in Indonesia, stronger private investment in Thailand and the Philippines, and technology-based export resilience in Singapore and Malaysia,’ Lim said in a press release dated Wednesday (4 March 2026).
The UBS One ASEAN Summit provides a comprehensive overview of the global investment landscape and its implications for Southeast Asia’s economy.
Participants engaged in various panel discussions addressing strategic issues, from global trade imbalances, cross-regional investment opportunities in China, Japan, and Europe, prospects for gold and precious metals, to developments in digital assets and artificial intelligence (AI) in ASEAN. The conference also discussed the role of new energy systems in underpinning an economy increasingly driven by AI.
UBS is again hosting the UBS One ASEAN Summit for the 14th time, bringing together more than 850 institutional investors, policymakers, and industry leaders from various countries. The annual forum serves as a platform for exchanging strategic insights and the latest investment ideas in response to the region’s economic dynamics and opportunities as Southeast Asia heads toward 2026.
Nicolo Magni, Head of UBS Global Banking South-East Asia & South Asia, said that the One ASEAN Summit has evolved into a strategic platform relevant for global market participants.
‘The flagship UBS One ASEAN Summit continues to show consistent year-on-year growth, bringing institutional investors, leading corporates, and global thought leaders to discuss the key trends shaping the business landscape today. Southeast Asia is increasingly viewed as a strategic alternative for global investors. We expect deal momentum to stay strong throughout 2026, with capital market activity becoming more dynamic, especially in the healthcare, real estate, and consumer sectors,’ Magni said.
