PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) has declared its readiness to resume pioneer ferry transport services in East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT) from Monday, 20 July 2026, in order to maintain connectivity for communities in the country’s underdeveloped, frontier and outermost (3T) regions.

ASDP Indonesia President Director Heru Widodo affirmed that the company is prepared to resume the pioneer crossing services in accordance with government instructions, ensuring the readiness of its fleet, human resources and operational support.

“ASDP is ready to resume pioneer crossing services in line with the government’s direction. For communities in island regions, especially 3T areas, this service is the main link for social and economic activity,” Heru said in a statement on Monday, 20 July 2026.

“We moved quickly to prepare the fleet, human resources and operational support so that communities can once again gain access to safe, reliable and sustainable transport,” he added.

The move follows the government’s instruction to the East Nusa Tenggara Class II Land Transport Management Centre (BPTD) for the services to be resumed. Heru stressed that pioneer crossing services function not merely as a mode of transport, but as a lifeline connecting communities and enabling the distribution of essential goods between island regions.

Meanwhile, ASDP Kupang Branch General Manager Ardhani Friandy explained that pioneer ferry operations on several NTT routes had been temporarily suspended since 1 July 2026, following notification from BPTD Class II NTT as the regulator.

“Nevertheless, we maintained intensive coordination with the Ministry of Transport, BPTD Class II NTT and regional governments to ensure operational readiness should the services be reassigned,” Ardhany said.

The services resuming operation cover several pioneer crossing routes within the working areas of ASDP’s Kupang and Sape branches.

In the Kupang branch area, KMP Ile Mandiri will serve the Larantuka-Solor, Solor-Lewoleba, Adonara (Deri)-Baranusa, Baranusa-Bakalang and Bakalang-Kalabahi routes. KMP Uma Kalada will also resume serving the Raijua-Sabu and Waingapu-Raijua routes.

Furthermore, KMP Ile Ape will serve the Kewapante-Palue, Palue-Marapokot, Kewapante-Pemana and Kewapante-Pulau Besar routes, while KMP Namparnos will serve the Kalabahi-Pulau Pura, Pulau Pura-Teluk Gurita and Teluk Gurita-Maritaing routes.

For the Sape branch area, KMP Komodo will resume serving the Labuan Bajo-Pulau Rinca route, while KMP Cucut will operate the Labuan Bajo-Waingapu route.
