ASDP Tightens Regulations for Kayangan-Poto Tano Ferry Crossing
PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) has begun tightening regulations on the Kayangan-Poto Tano crossing route in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Passengers exceeding the designated vehicle capacity are now required to purchase additional tickets and must be recorded in the manifest according to their National Identity Card (KTP).
“Yes, that is correct, it will begin to be implemented,” said the Public Relations Officer for PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persulated) Kayangan Branch, Audina Midiani, as confirmed on Wednesday (2/9/2026).
Audina revealed that users of the Kayangan-Poto Tano crossing and its reverse route must purchase one vehicle ticket according to the predetermined capacity or load of the vehicle.
“If the number of passengers exceeds the specified capacity, they are required to pay for or purchase an additional ticket,” she said.
She explained that one vehicle ticket for motorcycles is valid for two people. Furthermore, one car ticket covers 5-7 people, one travel van ticket covers 12-15 passengers, and one pickup truck ticket covers three passengers.
“If a motorcycle rider is carrying three people, the additional person must purchase an extra ticket. Similarly, for pickup trucks carrying people in the rear bed, they must purchase a passenger category ticket per person,” she clarified.
Manifest Must Match KTP
In addition to extra tickets, Audina explained that all passengers on board a vehicle must be recorded in the crossing manifest. Passenger data must be entered based on their National Identity Card (KTP).
“All passengers boarding the ship must be recorded in the manifest, and the data must match their KTP or other valid official identification,” she explained.
Audina added that the socialisation of compliance regarding the filling of crossing manifests was recently conducted in Jakarta. This socialisation aimed to align perceptions with the KNKT (National Transportation Safety Committee), the Ministry of Transportation, Korlantas Polri (Traffic Police), KPK (Corruption Eradication Commission), Jasa Raharja, the Ferry Operator Association, Travel Agents, YLKI (Indonesian Consumers Foundation), and the ASDP Board of Directors.
“This step is an effort by ASDP to strengthen the foundation of crossing safety. It ensures that passenger and vehicle manifest data is recorded accurately, completely, and in accordance with the actual conditions on the ground,” she added.
ASDP believes that an accurate and complete manifest is a vital part of the ferry safety system. Through strengthened compliance, verification, and data integration, ASDP is committed to providing increasingly optimal services oriented towards user safety.
