ASDP strengthens coordination to address ship docking delays in Bakauheni
South Lampung (ANTARA) - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) Bakauheni Main Branch continues to strengthen coordination with relevant parties to address ship docking delays during the Lebaran 2026 homecoming rush. “In this regard, ASDP, as the port operator, continues to coordinate with BPTD, KSOP, and other relevant parties to tackle ship docking delays during the Idul Fitri 1447 Hijriyah homecoming transport period,” said the General Manager of PT ASDP Bakauheni Branch, Partogi Tamba, in South Lampung on Thursday. According to him, his side will also coordinate with BPTD to adjust docking times to ensure that ship delays do not significantly impact schedules at subsequent ports. “Regarding the viral video and news about a ship docking delay of up to eight hours on Thursday, we have coordinated to ensure such incidents do not recur,” he said. He stated that his side has prepared special strategies to address passenger surges, thereby avoiding vehicle pile-ups in the port area and ship docking delays. “We have prepared various mitigation measures to serve the surge,” he said. Therefore, he urged the public planning to travel home and return via Bakauheni Port to plan their journeys earlier and ensure they have independently obtained tickets through the Ferizy application before arriving at the port. ASDP Bakauheni is also committed to continuing to provide the best service to all ferry users. “The safety of service users is our top priority. We collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure ferry services remain optimal,” he said.
