ASDP Strengthens Coordination to Address Logistics Truck Build-up in Bakauheni

South Lampung (ANTARA) - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) Main Branch Bakauheni is continuing to strengthen coordination with relevant parties to address the queue build-up of logistics truck vehicles at PT Sumur Makmur Abadi (SMA) and Wika Beton.

The President Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero), Heru Widodo, in Bakauheni on Thursday, stated that his company would coordinate with KSOP to add vessels at the PT SMA and Wika Beton ports so that thousands of logistics vehicles can cross to Java Island smoothly.

“To address the congestion at PT SMA, this is actually not under ASDP’s authority, but we will continue to coordinate to prepare compatible vessels to transport the trucks at PT SMA,” he said.

He admitted to having prepared a special strategy to handle the surge in passengers, ensuring no vehicle build-up in the port area and no delays in vessel docking.

“We have not yet received information from KSOP on the extent of their handling. If build-up occurs again, we will coordinate with KSOP to position ships at the PT SMA and Wika Beton ports,” he stated.

Therefore, he advised the public planning to travel for Eid homecoming and return via Bakauheni Port to plan their journeys earlier and ensure they have independently obtained tickets through the online application before arriving at the port.

ASDP Bakauheni is also committed to continuing to provide the best service to all ferry service users.

“We urge all members of the public, not only drivers but also pedestrians, to follow the instructions from on-site officers so as to have a comfortable journey that does not disturb other drivers or pedestrians, ensuring a safe trip to the destination,” he said.
