ASDP Sterilises Five Major Ports to Improve Operational Order

PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry officially enforced a port area sterilisation policy by implementing a one-gate system at five major ports starting Wednesday to improve operational security and order. ASDP President Director Heru Widodo stated in Cilegon, Banten, that the initial launch of the integrated access control system was centred at Merak Port. Besides Merak Port, the other four main ports that began implementing the system in this initial phase are Bakauheni Port, Ketapang Port, Gilimanuk Port, and Lembar Khayangan Port. “We are starting with five ports first, and later we will standardise it across all 30 ports we manage,” Heru said. He explained that ports are vital national objects, so security and safety aspects within them must be continuously improved. Through the implementation of the one-gate system, all access for people and vehicles is centralised through a single entry point. “This sterilisation measure ensures that every activity within the port area is properly identified and monitored,” he stated. All visitors entering will be recorded and verified to ensure they have a clear purpose within the port area. This integrated port area sterilisation policy had previously undergone a trial phase since April 2026. Through the implementation of stricter surveillance systems, ASDP hopes port operations can run more orderly. The transformation towards more modern port management is also targeted to provide maximum comfort and meet safety standards for all ferry service users.
