Cilegon (ANTARA) - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) has informed that the implementation of the single ticketing policy for the 2026 Lebaran homecoming period at Merak Port will apply until Friday at 23:59 WIB.

ASDP’s President Director Heru Widodo in Cilegon on Friday emphasised that the system is still running effectively to serve travellers heading to Sumatra island.

“The single ticketing applies until Friday, 20 March at 23:59 WIB; it is still in effect now,” Heru stated.

In line with the government’s stipulation that Eid al-Fitr falls on Saturday (21/3), ASDP continues to heighten vigilance and prepare personnel at crucial points.

Heru assured that the single ticketing policy will also be implemented for the return flow from Sumatra island.

“For the return flow, we will also implement single ticketing from Bakauheni to Merak,” he added.

To anticipate a surge in vehicles, ASDP has prepared a special strategy to ease congestion at the port, namely the Tiba Bongkar Berangkat (TBB) pattern. ASDP has also mobilised 20 ships with the TBB scheme at four docks simultaneously.

“This strategy has proven successful in clearing more than 25,000 vehicles during the peak homecoming rush last night without significant build-up, so the congestion was not felt,” he said.

The company also ensures that the TBB scheme will be applied at Bakauheni Port if congestion occurs in the dock area during the upcoming return flow.

ASDP urges the public planning return trips to continue monitoring ticket availability and comply with on-site officer instructions for smooth inter-island crossings.

The single ticketing policy equates the price of executive services with regular services.
