ASDP Serves 33 Million Passengers on Two Key National Routes
Jakarta (ANTARA) – PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry served 33 million passengers travelling on the Merak–Bakauheni and Ketapang–Gilimanuk routes in 2025, strengthening connectivity for communities and the distribution of logistics between the islands of Java, Sumatra and Bali.
“We recorded around 33 million passengers travelling along the two main ferry corridors, Merak–Bakauheni and Ketapang–Gilimanuk, throughout 2025,” ASDP President Director Heru Widodo said in Jakarta on Saturday.
Company operational data showed that around 20 million of the 33 million passengers travelled on the Merak–Bakauheni route, while 13 million used Ketapang–Gilimanuk, he said.
He said the high level of mobility reflected the strategic role of both routes in supporting passenger movement and logistics distribution between Java, Sumatra and Bali.
Merak–Bakauheni and Ketapang–Gilimanuk are not merely inter-island links, Heru said, but also an important part of the national economy.
“Every day, people and logistics vehicles rely on these routes, so service reliability is our priority,” Heru said.
Nationwide, ASDP’s ferry network served more than 46 million passengers in 2025, operating across 27 branches, 320 routes, 37 ports and 225 vessels.
