South Lampung, Lampung (ANTARA) - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) states that ferry services on the Bakauheni-Merak crossing during the transportation for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah or Lebaran 2026 have run smoothly, safely, and under control.

ASDP’s President Director Heru Widodo, in his statement in South Lampung, Lampung, on Wednesday, conveyed that amid significant increases in public activity, ferry services have remained able to operate optimally.

This is reflected in the smooth flow of services that is maintained as well as the increasingly even distribution of traffic across various routes, including Bakauheni Port, during the peak period of Eid homecoming and return traffic.

“The achievement of smooth services and increasingly even traffic distribution, even at peak times, is the result of operational readiness that has been designed comprehensively well before the Lebaran transportation period began. Optimisation of the fleet supported by strengthening digitalisation of services has become the main key in keeping ferry performance reliable,” said Heru.

According to him, Eid homecoming is not merely a journey home, but a major pulse of national mobility that brings together millions of stories, hopes, and longings in one moment.

Therefore, he said, the surge in movement has occurred again with higher intensity, but it has still been managed optimally through system readiness and solid cross-sector collaboration.

“Various anticipatory measures have been carried out in a measured manner, starting from ship operation patterns based on daily needs, implementation of the arrive-unload-depart scheme during congestion, delaying system through buffer zone points, utilisation of Ferizy digitalisation, to stimulus policies in the form of fare discounts and single tariffs to encourage more even and inclusive travel distribution,” he said.

This success, he said, is also strengthened by intensive cross-sector coordination.

This collaboration has become a key factor in ensuring that the public can carry out their homecoming and return journeys safely, soundly, and smoothly.

“This year’s Lebaran transportation arrangement is a major collective effort, involving intensive cross-sector coordination, both between ministries, institutions, local governments, transportation operators, and all related stakeholders,” he said.

In line with that, Heru also expressed appreciation for the full support from all parties in maintaining service smoothness.

“We appreciate the close collaboration of Danantara Indonesia, BP BUMN, the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development, the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Health, the Indonesian National Police, the Indonesian National Armed Forces, state-owned transportation enterprises, ferry associations, and all ferry service users. Public compliance in planning journeys early and purchasing tickets through Ferizy has greatly contributed to maintaining the smoothness of homecoming and return traffic,” he said.

With the support of mature operational readiness and solid cross-sector coordination, ASDP will continue to strengthen its commitment to conducting ongoing evaluations and delivering increasingly reliable ferry services oriented towards user needs throughout Indonesia.

“As a vital connector in the national transportation system, we are committed to continuing to ensure the smoothness, safety, and comfort of services, while delivering a prime ferry experience for all of society,” said Heru.
