Reliable ferry services are an important factor in keeping inter-island logistics distribution running smoothly across Indonesia. PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) is improving the operational efficiency of its vessels and ports and strengthening coordination across transport modes to support the movement of goods between regions.

ASDP Operations and Transformation Director Rio Lasse said ferry connectivity plays an important role in maintaining the continuity of national supply chains. The smooth distribution of goods, he said, depends not only on fleet availability but also on the links between transport services.

“Smooth logistics distribution is determined not only by the availability of transport facilities, but also by connections between modes and the reliability of services at every point along the journey,” Rio said in a written statement in Jakarta on Saturday (10 October 2026).

Rio said ASDP was optimising vessel and port operations to improve service efficiency. The company is also strengthening coordination with stakeholders so ferry services can help ensure the smooth distribution of goods.

These efficiency improvements must continue to take maritime safety into account. ASDP places safety first in both vessel operations and port services.

“These efforts are being undertaken while keeping maritime safety as the top priority,” Rio added.

For its contribution to developing maritime logistics connectivity, ASDP received the Integrated Maritime Logistics Connectivity of the Year award from Supply Chain Indonesia (SCI) at the 2026 Indonesia Logistics Awards (ILA). The award was presented in the Conferred Awards category, which recognises companies’ contributions and achievements.

The award follows ASDP’s success at the 2025 Indonesia Logistics Awards, where it received the Inter-Island Transport & Logistics Connectivity of the Year award. Both awards recognise the company’s role in supporting transport links and the distribution of goods between islands.

“The award recognises ASDP’s contribution to strengthening maritime connectivity and supporting the smooth distribution of national logistics through ferry services,” Rio said.

ASDP Corporate Secretary Windy Andale said ferry services also support trade and regional economic activity. The company is therefore focused on improving service quality and working with the government, regulators and transport operators.

“This award will encourage ASDP to continue improving service quality while extending the benefits of connectivity to the public,” Windy said.
