JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) recorded a total of 2,596,597 passengers, an increase of 5.4 per cent compared to last year’s 2,463,910 people.

ASDP President Director Heru Widodo stated that the total number of vehicles recorded was 667,526 units, up 7.2 per cent from 622,604 units in the same period the previous year.

“On the daily period (H) of 21 March 2026, the total number of passengers was 156,838 people, up 1.7 per cent from 154,237 people last year. Meanwhile, vehicles reached 40,066 units, an increase of 0.6 per cent compared to 39,811 units,” Heru said in an official statement on Sunday (22/3/2026).

The dynamics of the continuous homecoming flow were managed in a controlled manner through operational readiness and solid cross-stakeholder coordination.

Heru conveyed that crossings during the homecoming flow ran smoothly and remained under control, despite a significant increase in public mobility.

“Amid the high volume of homecomers’ movements, we ensure that services remain top-notch through increased operational capacity, strengthened services, and intensive cross-stakeholder coordination, while prioritising the safety and comfort of service users,” he said.

To maintain smoothness, ASDP implemented adjustments to ship operation patterns, personnel readiness, and traffic engineering in the form of vehicle diversions and a delaying system in several buffer zones.

As part of the return flow distribution, ASDP also optimised service diversions through Bojonegara BBJ Port for vehicles in groups VIB, VII, VIII, and IX from 23–29 March 2026.

“Meanwhile, other vehicles, including motorcycles, will still be served through Merak Port,” he said.

In addition, the optimisation of the Port Operational Control Centre on the Merak–Bakauheni and Ketapang–Gilimanuk routes strengthens real-time operational control.

ASDP Corporate Secretary Windy Andale stated that preparations for the return flow continue to be strengthened.

Up to H to H+10, ticket availability on the Java–Sumatra and Java–Bali routes still reaches 98.66 per cent.
