ASDP prepares Ketapang-Gilimanuk ferry route ahead of Idul Adha holiday
PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) is preparing the Ketapang-Gilimanuk ferry route ahead of the Idul Adha holiday and the extended weekend for Pancasila’s Birthday.
Corporate Secretary Windy Andale stated the company is ensuring optimal ferry services amid recent changes in Bali Strait weather conditions.
Although vehicle congestion occurred, particularly for logistics trucks, ASDP ensured services remained controlled while prioritising safety.
‘Changes in weather conditions previously affected vessel operations, especially during berthing and loading/unloading maneuvers requiring greater caution,’ Windy said in a statement on Sunday, 24 May 2026.
However, ASDP confirmed prompt and measured handling to maintain vehicle flow.
Data from Thursday 21 May to Sunday 24 May at 18:00 WIB showed the Ketapang-Gilimanuk route served 14,936 vehicles and 51,465 passengers. Logistics trucks dominated the vehicles, with 20,392 vehicles and 67,546 passengers crossing from Gilimanuk to Ketapang.
‘We understand increased waiting times are a concern for users. However, in dynamic weather conditions, all services must be conducted with caution,’ she added.
‘Safety cannot be compromised and remains the top priority for all ferry journeys,’ she said.
