JAKARTA - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) has postponed the temporary rerouting of the Bajoe-Kolaka crossing to Siwa-Kolaka in Southeast Sulawesi, originally scheduled to begin on 10 April 2026, to now take effect from 1 May to 1 June 2026.

ASDP Indonesia Ferry’s President Director, Heru Widodo, stated that the delay is intended to ensure comprehensive operational readiness while maintaining smooth services for passengers.

“We want to ensure that the route rerouting does not disrupt the flow of crossings or logistics distribution,” he said in a written statement on Sunday (12/4/2026).

This is because the company is considering aspects of safety, service smoothness, and on-site operational conditions, including the high volume of vehicles following Lebaran 2026.

With the high volume of vehicles after Lebaran, particularly logistics transport, there is potential for congestion that could hinder public mobility.

ASDP recorded that from January 2025 to March 2026, Bajoe Port served around 31,000 passengers and 62,000 vehicles. This high volume is one of the factors driving the need for more careful traffic management.

“We are making this schedule adjustment carefully, considering technical readiness and on-site operational conditions,” he added.

On the other hand, ASDP is also preparing to implement a digitalisation system through the Ferizy platform on the Siwa–Kolaka route. This system is expected to improve service efficiency and enhance crossing data accuracy.

“To support smooth future services, we will implement the digitalisation system through Ferizy on the Siwa-Kolaka route,” said Anom.

Furthermore, ASDP will continue to coordinate with various parties to ensure the route rerouting runs smoothly without disrupting public mobility or inter-regional logistics distribution.
