To streamline the Palembang-Muntok crossing, a new wharf is planned to be constructed at Tanjung Kalian Port, West Bangka.

The Regent of West Bangka, Markus, stated that the addition of this facility is expected to accelerate the crossing route from Palembang to West Bangka and facilitate the flow of goods entering Bangka Island. “Of course, we at the regional government will coordinate with ASDP to ensure smooth operations during the exodus. If there are no obstacles, ASDP will build another wharf,” said Regent Markus on Friday (27 February).

Additionally, Markus has requested that the Governor of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province coordinate with the Governor of South Sumatra regarding smooth operations at Tanjung Api-Api Port. It is hoped that similar measures will also be undertaken in South Sumatra to ensure that the exodus and logistics distribution run smoothly from both directions.

“This can accelerate the route from Palembang here. The flow of goods entering Bangka Island. I have also communicated to the Governor of Bangka Belitung to coordinate with the Governor of South Sumatra at Tanjung Api-Api so that the same facilitation occurs there as well,” he explained.

According to him, preparations are generally quite good. The regional government will continue coordinating across agencies to ensure smooth operations during the 2026 Lebaran exodus.

“It is already quite good; we will continue coordinating to ensure smooth operations during this exodus,” he said.
