Cilegon — PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) has deployed four electric buses to serve passenger mobility from Merak Integrated Terminal (TTM) to port departure areas in order to enhance service provision during the Lebaran exodus period.

ASDP Chief Executive Officer Heru Widodo stated in Cilegon, Banten, on Tuesday that the provision of electric buses aims to facilitate the distribution of passengers arriving at the terminal so they can reach ship departure areas more quickly and comfortably.

“There are four electric bus units that can be used to distribute passengers from Merak Integrated Terminal to the departure docks we have prepared,” he said.

In addition to the electric buses, ASDP has also deployed 22 shuttle vehicles at Cilegon Railway Station. These vehicles are specifically prepared to transport members of the public using rail transport so they can gain direct access to the port.

“Members of the public who use the train will disembark at the station, and then we will transport them to the port using vehicles we have provided. We are operating 22 vehicles every day in both directions,” Heru explained.

During the occasion, Heru also provided reassurance to travellers regarding ticket flexibility. ASDP has implemented a grace period for ticket validity ranging from eight hours before to twelve hours after the scheduled departure time listed on tickets.

“So the public does not need to worry if, for example, they experience delays in arrival. This also applies if they arrive too early, as we also provide such concessions,” he said.

This policy has been adopted to ensure that travellers need not worry if they experience delays or arrive too early at the port. However, he continued to advise travellers to purchase tickets independently through official online channels to avoid unlicensed ticketing practices.
