Banyuwangi (ANTARA) - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) is preparing operational scenarios for ferry services on the Ketapang (Banyuwangi)-Gilimanuk (Bali) crossing to face the Lebaran return flow in 2026, with coordination across related agencies. “We ensure that all operational steps are carried out in a measured, adaptive manner, prioritising safety as the main focus,” said Deputy Director Yossianis Marciano of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) in Banyuwangi, East Java, on Tuesday. Amid the dynamics of increasing crossing traffic, ASDP continues to strengthen anticipatory measures to ensure the Ketapang-Gilimanuk return flow remains smooth, safe, and controlled. Yossi explained that under normal conditions, the crossing in the Bali Strait is expected to run smoothly, and if there is a surge in vehicles or extreme weather, mitigation steps will be implemented quickly and in a coordinated manner. “This TBB scheme allows the ship to return to operation directly without loading from Gilimanuk Port, thus accelerating the dispersal of queues (in Ketapang),” said Yossi. According to him, ASDP is also optimising large-capacity vessel fleets such as KMP Portlink VII owned by ASDP and KMP Liputan XII owned by PT Segara Luas Samudra Abadi (SLSA) to speed up the loading and unloading process. “All mitigation steps have been prepared in a measured manner and are ready to be implemented whenever needed,” said Yossi.
