ASDP Introduces Discounts and Single Tariff Scheme for 2026 Lebaran Transport
The annual Lebaran homecoming is always more than just a journey — it is about longing to be fulfilled and families waiting in hometowns. Every year, millions of Indonesians cross the seas with one purpose: to return home.
For the 2026/1447 H Lebaran Transport season, PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) is ensuring that ferry crossings are more affordable, orderly and comfortable through a tariff discount stimulus policy and the implementation of a single tariff scheme.
The policy is based on a Joint Ministerial Decree involving multiple ministries and agencies concerning traffic management and crossing services during the 2026 Lebaran Transport period, as well as a directive from the Director General of Land Transport on the application of single-price ticketing (dynamic pricing) on the Merak–Bakauheni route.
The stimulus programme will run for 20 days, from 12 to 31 March 2026, covering 14 ports and affecting seven regular and express crossing routes.
The total stimulus budget amounts to Rp 35.55 billion, with an estimated 403,487 passengers and 945,501 vehicles as direct beneficiaries — equivalent to approximately 2,403,928 people based on assumed vehicle passenger conversion figures.
The stimulus takes the form of a 100 per cent discount on port service charges, which on average equates to 21.9 per cent of the total ferry ticket price. The discount applies to the following routes: Merak–Bakauheni (Regular return), Merak–Bakauheni (Executive return), Ketapang–Gilimanuk (return), Lembar–Padangbai (return), Kayangan–Pototano (return), Tanjung Uban–Telaga Punggur (return), Ajibata–Ambarita (return) and Sape–Labuan Bajo (return).
The transport tariff discount is limited to foot passengers and passenger vehicles. For regular services, the stimulus applies to foot passengers and vehicles in Category II and Category IVA, whilst for executive services it applies to foot passengers and Category II vehicles.
Single Tariff Implementation
In addition to the discount stimulus, the Merak–Bakauheni crossing route will also implement a single tariff policy. This scheme will apply from 13 March 2026 at 12.00 Western Indonesian Time until 20 March 2026 at 15.00 for departures from Merak Port, and from 23 March 2026 at 00.00 until 29 March 2026 at 24.00 for departures from Bakauheni Port.
During these periods, there will be no tariff difference between regular and express services. The single tariff scheme works by equalising executive service fares with regular service fares for foot passengers and passenger vehicles.
In line with these arrangements, operational service patterns at the wharves will be adjusted according to schedules and traffic management requirements. Service users will be served according to pre-arranged vessel and wharf assignments.
During this period, there will be no option to choose between regular or express services based on time preference, as all services will follow operational arrangements designed to maintain smooth crossing traffic flow.
ASDP President Director Heru Widodo affirmed that this policy forms part of the national strategy for traffic management and public service delivery.
“Through the stimulus and single tariff, we want to ensure that the 2026 Lebaran homecoming is more orderly, affordable and smooth. This is a form of collaboration between the government and state-owned enterprises to deliver safe crossing journeys whilst easing the burden on the public,” he said in a written statement on Sunday (22/2/2026).
Buy Tickets Early
ASDP Corporate Secretary Windy Andale stated that the company is ensuring the readiness of its ticket sales system, public outreach to service users, monitoring of beneficiary uptake and intensive coordination with all stakeholders.
To support smooth crossing traffic flow, the public is encouraged to book tickets early through the Ferizy platform, which allows bookings up to 60 days in advance.
Tickets will be sent via WhatsApp or email with digital payment support, enabling travellers to plan their journeys with greater certainty whilst avoiding long queues during peak periods.
Service users must already hold a ticket before arriving at the port and must travel according to the departure schedule printed on their ticket. Users must also ensure that passenger data and identity information is completed accurately and in full to support smooth service delivery during the Lebaran Transport period.
With this policy, the homecoming journey is not merely an inter-island transfer but a crossing managed with certainty, collaboration and care — designed so that every member of the public can arrive at their hometown safely and with joy.
