ASDP Implements 24-Hour Ferry Service on Hunimua–Waipirit Route During Easter
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) is operating a 24-hour ferry service on the Hunimua–Waipirit route in Maluku during the Easter period, from Friday (3/4) to Sunday (5/4/2026).
ASDP CEO Heru Widodo stated that a surge in mobility occurs alongside the Easter holiday momentum.
“The Easter holiday, rich in spiritual significance, also brings about a significant increase in mobility dynamics,” said Heru in an official statement on Thursday (2/4/2026).
“The operation of 24-hour services on the Hunimua–Waipirit route represents ASDP’s commitment to ensuring accessibility and smooth mobility for the public, particularly in island areas,” Heru explained.
“With the readiness of the fleet and solid coordination with all stakeholders, we are optimistic that ferry services during the Easter period will run safely and smoothly,” Heru added.
From January to March 2026, the Hunimua–Waipirit route served 150,331 passengers and 124,078 vehicles.
Two-wheeled vehicles dominated with 85,893 units. Four-wheeled vehicles recorded 25,849 units.
The average crossing time is around 1 hour 30 minutes. The 24-hour operational scheme is prepared to maintain the smooth flow of passengers and vehicles.
