ASDP: Humanitarian Aid Transport Resumes to NTT

Baubau, Southeast Sulawesi (ANTARA) - The President Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry, Heru Widodo, has confirmed that the mobilisation of humanitarian aid is once again underway towards East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) using the KMP Inerie II from Surabaya to support the recovery of communities affected by disasters in the region.

“ASDP is once again demonstrating its concern for the people of NTT who are undergoing the post-disaster recovery process,” Heru confirmed in Baubau, Southeast Sulawesi, on Saturday.

This time, he stated, the support is being realised through the mobilisation of humanitarian aid from Surabaya to Kupang using the KMP Inerie II, which departed from Ujung Surabaya Port on Saturday, 5 September 2026.

Heru noted that in disaster situations, ferry connectivity plays a strategic role in ensuring that aid can reach those in need. “We want to ensure that the connectivity provided by ASDP can offer tangible benefits to the community, particularly in emergency response and disaster recovery situations,” said Heru.

He emphasised that every piece of aid mobilised is a form of care and mutual cooperation (gotong royong) to assist residents affected by earthquakes in NTT. “Therefore, we invite all parties to come together and provide the best support for the affected people,” added Heru.

This step is part of ASDP’s efforts to support affected communities while opening space for collaboration with various parties wishing to contribute. According to him, the public, the business world, communities, and humanitarian organisations can deliver aid to Ujung Surabaya Port for subsequent mobilisation to NTT.

ASDP invites members of the public who wish to contribute to submit humanitarian aid at Ujung Surabaya Port. Information and coordination for aid delivery can be conducted through Toni Saputra (0821-3135-0597) and Ayudha Pratama (0852-7573-1638).

Aid that can be distributed by the public includes food and beverages, basic necessities, medicines and medical supplies, wearable clothing, blankets, tents, sleeping gear, baby and child supplies, and other basic needs required by the affected population. Every donation is expected to be in good and usable condition to ensure optimal benefits for the people of NTT. This support continues a series of company contributions to assist the recovery process in NTT.

Previously, ASDP has mobilised humanitarian aid several times through ferry services, including basic necessities as well as logistical support and equipment needed in affected areas. These efforts are carried out through coordination with various parties to ensure aid moves safely and reaches those in need.

ASPD Corporate Secretary Windy Andale added that support for the people of NTT will continue through coordination and collaboration with various stakeholders. “Post-disaster recovery is not a short process and requires collective work from many parties. As long as connectivity is still needed to support the movement of aid, we will continue to strive to provide support so that aid can be mobilised safely and accurately,” explained Windy.

As part of national connectivity, ASDP is committed to continuing to provide benefits to the community, including by optimising ferry services as a route for aid mobilisation during emergency response and disaster recovery processes.
