PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) will temporarily suspend ferry crossing services on the Java–Bali and Lombok routes during Nyepi in March 2026. The suspension will apply at Ketapang Port, Banyuwangi; Gilimanuk Port, Bali; Padang Bai Port, Bali; and Lembar Port, Lombok.

The operational adjustments are part of national transport arrangements to maintain order and to honour the observance of Catur Brata Penyepian on the island of Bali. The temporary suspension of ferry operations is issued under an operational ferry adjustment letter from the Ministry of Transportation via the Directorate General of Land Transportation, which governs adjustments to ferry services during Nyepi.

Ferry operations are temporarily halted at Ketapang Port from 18 March 2026, 17:00 WIB, to 20 March 06:00 WIB. At Gilimanuk Port from 19 March 05:00 WITA to 20 March 06:00 WITA. At Lembar Port from 18 March 21:00 WITA to 20 March 01:30 WITA. At Padang Bai Port from 19 March 04:00 WITA to 20 March 11:30 WITA.

Director General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation, Aan Suhanan, said the operational adjustment policy is also in response to Nyepi being close to the Lebaran mobility period in 2026, which is expected to see a surge in public movement. The government has prepared a number of traffic management schemes to anticipate movements from 13 to 29 March.

The arrangements include optimising MB Dock and LCM on the Ketapang–Gilimanuk corridor, and operating alternative routes: Tanjung Wangi Port–Gilimas Port and Jangkar Port–Lembar Port. “The aim is to distribute vehicle flow to keep it smooth, safe, and controlled during the peak mudik period,” Aan said in a written statement on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.

In addition to vehicle diversions, the government has established a delaying system via buffer zones on toll and non-toll routes and geofencing with a radius of 2.65 kilometres from Ketapang Port and 2 kilometres from Gilimanuk Port.

In line with the policy, ASDP has confirmed that ferry services remain prepared to face the Lebaran period. ASDP Chief Executive Officer Heru Widodo stressed that the company continues to strengthen operational readiness to safeguard safety and smooth journeys for the public.

“We are committed to always placing the safety of service users as the top priority. We continue to take anticipatory measures so that ferry services remain reliable and able to offer a sense of security for the public,” said Heru.
