JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) has confirmed that vehicle queues heading to Gilimanuk Port, Bali, have been cleared as of 16:30 WITA on Wednesday (18/3/2026). All vehicles are now under control within the buffer zone, making the flow towards the port more orderly.

This situation marks a turning point in managing congestion on the Bali-Java crossing route ahead of the Lebaran homecoming peak. Based on field monitoring, no vehicle queues were found outside the port area since the afternoon.

Deputy Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero), Yossianis Marciano, stated that this achievement is the result of joint efforts by various parties.

“The clearing of the queues is the result of collaborative work, from optimising ship operations and traffic arrangements to the maximum utilisation of the buffer zone,” he said in a press statement on Wednesday (18/3/2026).

“We ensure that services continue to run optimally so that users can be served well.”

The government, through the Ministry of Transportation, has also confirmed that traffic conditions to the port are under control. Director General of Land Transportation, Aan Suhanan, mentioned that since 16:00 WITA, there have been no more vehicle queues outside the port.

“All vehicles are now accommodated in the buffer zone,” said Aan.

The number of passengers crossing from Bali to Java reached 48,230 people, an increase of 37.4% compared to the same period last year, which was 35,090 people.

Increases were also recorded for all types of vehicles. Motorcycles numbered 11,343 units, up 35.0%; cars 4,237 units, up 26.9%; trucks 613 units, surging 67.9%; and buses 320 units, up 35%.

In total, vehicles crossing reached 16,513 units, an increase of 33.8% compared to last year’s 12,341 units.

Collaboration with the police, port operators, and the community has also been key to managing the flow on the ground.

Cumulatively from H-10 to H-3 at 14:00, the total passengers recorded were 431,628 people, up 3.4%. Meanwhile, the total vehicles reached 139,405 units, an increase of 5.5% compared to the same period the previous year.

ASDP ensures that coordination will continue to be strengthened to anticipate the Lebaran homecoming peak, while urging service users to follow the directions of officers for safety and smooth travel.
