PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) has ensured the strengthening of Ketapang–Gilimanuk ferry services to maintain the smooth mobility of the public, the distribution of logistics, and to support connectivity between the islands of Java and Bali.

ASDP Corporate Secretary Windy Andale stated that the service enhancement is being carried out through increased synergy with the East Java Provincial Government and all stakeholders to ensure that ferry operations remain smooth, safe, and reliable.

“ASDP welcomes the support of the East Java Provincial Government in strengthening the management of congestion on the Ketapang–Gilimanuk route, which directly affects the movement of people and the logistics distribution chain between Java and Bali,” Windy confirmed in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Windy previously noted that the company received a working visit from the Vice Governor of East Java, Emil Elestianto Dardak, to the Ketapang Port area in Banyuwangi on Tuesday (22/9).

During the visit, Emil, along with relevant agencies, inspected several strategic points, starting from Tanjung Wangi Port, continuing to the Ketapang Port managed by ASDP, and proceeding to the Bulusan Pier.

The inspection was conducted to observe field conditions directly and to map out concrete steps to alleviate vehicle congestion in the Ketapang area.

Windy expressed appreciation for the attention and support of the East Java Provincial Government towards improving service efficiency in the region.

“Therefore, management requires synergy from all parties, both in strengthening port capacity and in managing traffic leading to the ferry area,” said Windy.

As part of these efforts, the East Java Provincial Government has allocated a budget of approximately Rp6 billion for the renovation of the Bulusan Pier.

Regional planning is also directed towards strengthening connectivity between the Bulusan area and the ferry facilities at Ketap_pang Port, so that vehicle movement can be managed more effectively without increasing the traffic load on public roads.

Windy added that integrated regional planning is vital, given that the Ketapang–Gilimanuk route is a strategic corridor supporting both public mobility and logistics distribution between Java and Bali.

“With government support and coordination among all stakeholders, we hope the prepared measures can improve service efficiency, facilitate public mobility and logistics distribution, and maintain Java–Bali connectivity,” Windy concluded.

Moving forward, ASDP will continue to strengthen coordination with the government, regulators, and all stakeholders to ensure that infrastructure strengthening and operational management proceed in alignment.

This synergy is expected to support Ketapang–Gilimanuk ferry services that are increasingly safe, smooth, and reliable for both the public and logistics movement.

Meanwhile, the General Manager of the ASDP Ketapang Branch, Media Syahrianto, stated that the strengthening of infrastructure and regional connectivity must go hand-in-hand with operational management that is adaptive to field conditions.

“From an operational perspective, we continue to implement dynamic arrangements by considering vehicle volume, the readiness of ships and piers, as well as weather and water conditions,” he said.

These steps are taken to maintain the smooth flow of vehicles while keeping maritime safety as the top priority.
