Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) is easing the surge in logistics trucks at Ketapang Port after Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah through the optimisation of the arrival-unloading-departure (TBB) pattern, additional trips and vessels, as well as vehicle rhythm control using buffer zones. “We are implementing these steps to ensure that logistics flow continues to be served well without disrupting the smooth travel of other service users,” said ASDP Deputy Director Yossianis Marciano in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday. He explained that although the Mudik Transport Post has ended, the return flow of Eid on the Ketapang-Gilimanuk route remains dynamic with high intensity. “From morning to afternoon, vehicles continue to flow towards Ketapang Port, reflecting the high mobility of the public returning to their home regions or resuming activities after the long holiday,” he said. He noted that until 3:00 PM WIB, the vehicle flow from the north towards the port was observed to be congested, with an estimated queue of around 12 km. The vehicle composition is dominated by logistics trucks, accompanied by buses and private vehicles continuously heading to the port area. This condition is part of the operational dynamics following the end of the policy restricting logistics vehicles with three axles and above, as regulated in the Joint Decree (SKB) Number: KP-DRJD 854 of 2026, Number: HK.201/1/21DJPL/2026, Number: 20/KPTS/Db/2026, and Number: Kep/43/II/2026 dated 5 February 2026. The restriction was previously enforced on the Ketapang-Gilimanuk route from 13 to 29 March 2026. Yossianis stated that the surge in logistics vehicles after the reopening of the restriction is one of the factors increasing queues on the Ketapang-Gilimanuk route. “After the end of the logistics vehicle restriction, there has been a significant increase in trucks entering Ketapang Port. This condition impacts vehicle queues but remains under control through strengthened on-site operational management,” he said. To respond to this situation, ASDP is collaborating with regulators and ship operators to make adaptive service adjustments, including the TBB pattern, additional trips and vessels, to vehicle rhythm control through buffer zones. It is recorded that ASDP is operating 36 vessels with the support of implementing the TBB pattern on 10 vessels at Pier 4 to accelerate the loading and unloading process. In addition, six support vessels are strengthening the service, namely Portlink VII, Liputan XII, Dharma Kencana IX, Dharma Rucitra, Karya Maritim II, and Perkasa Prima V. Vehicle flow arrangements are also carried out through the optimisation of buffer zones as a holding area before vehicles enter the port, especially for logistics trucks accommodated at Bulusan Pier. Ketapang Branch General Manager ASDP Arief Eko explained that the buffer zone scheme helps maintain smooth vehicle movement while providing rest space for drivers before continuing their journey. “At Bulusan itself, we are implementing two schemes where some vehicles will be directly departed via Bulusan Pier using ships docked there. Meanwhile, the others will be sent to the LCM Pier,” said Arief. He mentioned that based on data as of Tuesday (31/3) morning, around 380 vehicles dominated by large and medium trucks are at the Bulusan Buffer Zone, and the number is still increasing. Meanwhile, the vehicle flow from the Tollgate to the pier at 12:45 PM WIB was observed to be congested with movement times ranging from 15 to 30 minutes. Based on data from the Ketapang Post over 24 hours on 30 March 2026 (H+8), a total of 56,197 passengers crossed from Java to Bali, an increase of 5.2 percent, and a total of 17,608 vehicles, up 2.1 percent. Cumulatively, from 22 to 30 March 2026 (H-10 to H+8), a total of 624,717 passengers and 171,921 vehicles crossed from Java to Bali. Of the total reservations of 183,810 vehicles on the Ferizy digital platform, 171,921 units have entered Ketapang Port and been served well. The potential vehicles still to cross until H+10 are estimated at around 11,889 units.
