Jakarta (ANTARA) - The President Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero), Heru Widodo, has emphasised that safety is the top priority in ferry services by reinforcing operational standards, supervision, and fleet readiness amid high national mobility. “Amid the complexity of operations and high national mobility, safety remains the company’s top priority,” Heru stated during the 53rd Anniversary (HUT) celebrations through the peak activity of the ASDP Charity Run held at the ASDP Head Office in Jakarta on Sunday. He mentioned that throughout 2025, ASDP still faced several shipping incidents, ranging from accidents, grounded ships, to ship collisions. Nevertheless, the company managed to keep the ship accident rate at 0.220 percent, better than the company’s target of 0.230 percent, with a total of five ship accidents throughout the year. “Safety must not be considered complete. It must become collective awareness and the top priority in every line of service and operations,” he said. This year’s anniversary momentum, Heru continued, serves as a reflection on ASDP’s journey in facing the increasingly dynamic challenges of the ferry transportation industry. “Not just an event for sports and togetherness, this activity reflects the company’s commitment to delivering sustainable impacts for society, the environment, and national transportation services,” he stated.
