PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) has ensured that roll-on roll-off ferry services on the Batam–Bintan crossing remain operational until the evening on Monday, 9 March. The optimisation of available sailing schedules, with departures occurring almost hourly, is aimed at guaranteeing smooth inter-island mobility for the public in the Riau Islands.

To serve the route from Telaga Punggur Port (Batam) to Tanjung Uban (Bintan), ASDP has deployed three main vessels: KMP Barau, KMP Mulia Nusantara, and KMP Tanjung Burang.

Ferry services from Batam commence in the morning with frequent departures to prevent passenger congestion. In the reverse direction, services from Tanjung Uban to Telaga Punggur begin at 06:00 WIB (Western Indonesian Time) via KMP Mulia Nusantara and conclude at 18:00 WIB.

ASDP operational staff at Telaga Punggur Port have stated that the extended evening schedule is expected to accommodate the needs of passengers travelling for business or leisure purposes. Darmansyah, an ASDP officer, stated: “With a sufficiently packed schedule, we hope the public can plan their journeys better. We also urge prospective passengers to purchase tickets online through the Ferizy application or website before arriving at the port.”

Management has also emphasised the importance of time management for prospective passengers to ensure smooth departure procedures. “Prospective passengers are expected to have checked in or arrived at the port no later than two hours before their scheduled departure,” he said.

In addition to focusing on the Batam–Bintan crossing, Telaga Punggur Port also provides connectivity to mainland Riau via Mengkapan Buton. This service is operated by KMP Wira Loewisa with a single departure scheduled at 14:00 WIB.

ASDP reminds all service users that ferry schedules are dynamic in nature. Changes may occur at any time to accommodate operational conditions and weather factors in the Riau Islands waters, prioritising the safety of maritime operations.
