ASDP: Bakauheni Port Preparedness Reaches 90 Per Cent for Homecoming Surge
PT Angkutan Sungai Danau dan Penyeberangan (ASDP) Indonesia Ferry has announced that Bakauheni Port in South Lampung Regency has achieved 90 per cent operational readiness to handle the 2026 Lebaran homecoming surge.
“Our preparedness for the homecoming period has reached 90 per cent across vessel fleet, port infrastructure, and operational personnel,” said Partogi Tamba, General Manager of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry’s Main Branch in Bakauheni, speaking in Lampung Province on Monday.
For the Lebaran transport period this year, ASDP is preparing 57 vessels to operate on the main ferry route connecting Java and Sumatra. “All vessels have undergone ramp checks to ensure smooth operations during the homecoming period,” Tamba stated.
The company has activated several additional port facilities, including Wika Beton Port, Bandar Bakau Jaya Bojanegara (BBJ) Port, and Sumur Makmur Abadi (SMA) Port.
From an infrastructure standpoint, ASDP has readied seven berthing facilities on the Merak-Bakauheni route, comprising two executive berths and five regular berths.
Operational management will be strengthened through implementation of a unified tariff policy. To support operations during the Lebaran transport period, ASDP will deploy approximately 780 personnel who will be on duty from 13 to 31 March.
