Lampung (ANTARA) - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) is implementing the Tiba-Bongkar-Berangkat (TBB) scheme to address vehicle queues during the return flow of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah on the main Bakauheni-Merak crossing. The President Director of PT ASDP, Heru Widodo, in Bakauheni on Tuesday, stated that the TBB scheme is essential to prevent vehicle build-up in the port area. “We will implement TBB. This TBB scheme means arrive, unload, and depart, so when a loaded ship departs from Bakauheni Port, it will then only unload at Merak and return to Bakauheni to transport passengers,” he said. According to him, one of the main keys to the smooth operation of the return flow crossing for Lebaran 2026 is the implementation of the TBB scheme. The TBB implementation carried out by Merak Port during the outbound flow yesterday has proven to accelerate ship rotation and minimise vehicle accumulation at the port. He mentioned that the peak of the return flow for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah on the Bakauheni-Merak crossing occurs on H+2 or Tuesday (24/3). According to him, return travellers at Bakauheni Port are still arriving continuously and filling several parking pockets on the pier and passenger waiting areas. “The peak return flow occurs today, 24 March 2026, for the first wave, and is predicted to occur again on 28-28 March 2026,” he said. It should be noted that the crossing route connecting Sumatra and Java islands is a vital route in supporting community mobility as well as national logistics distribution.
