ASDP and Aceh Government Develop Jakarta-Malahayati Logistics Route
JAKARTA - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) plans to expand strategic logistics routes to western Indonesia via the Jakarta-Malahayati route in Aceh.
The plan is being developed amid growing demand for faster, more efficient, and integrated logistics distribution.
The Aceh government and ASDP have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the development of the new strategic route.
“Developing the Jakarta-Malahayati route is not just about opening a new route, but part of ASDP’s service transformation to strengthen a more efficient, modern, and integrated Long Distance Ferry (LDF) ecosystem,” said Yossianis in a statement on Saturday, 23 May 2026.
Yossianis said the route is expected to act as a catalyst for strengthening national logistics distribution.
The route is also expected to create opportunities for trade, tourism, and economic growth in Aceh and western Indonesia more broadly.
Through this collaboration, ASDP and the Aceh government will develop sustainable ferry services. The development includes operating and managing the fleet, setting tariffs in line with regulations, and developing supporting port facilities.
“Both parties will also develop supporting port facilities, promote the passenger market, and improve safety standards and ferry service quality,” Yossianis said.
According to Nasir, the synergy between the Aceh government and ASDP is a crucial step to ensure regional development agendas align with strengthened national connectivity.
“This collaboration will open up new development opportunities that can be continuously evaluated and expanded to support more comprehensive regional economic growth in the future,” he said.
