ASDP: 37,877 Homeward Travellers Cross from Bali to Java on Eid Eve Minus 8
Banyuwangi, East Java (ANTARA) — PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) Ketapang Branch in Banyuwangi, East Java, recorded 37,877 homeward travellers crossing from Gilimanuk Harbour in Bali to Ketapang Harbour on Friday 13 March 2026, eight days before Eid 2026.
General Manager of ASDP Indonesia Ferry Ketapang Branch Arief Eko Kurnianjah stated that passenger figures on Eid Eve Minus 8 declined by 30.5 per cent compared with the same period last year, which saw 54,478 passengers.
“This figure is based on data from the Gilimanuk Post over a 24-hour period on 13 March 2026 from 00:00 to 23:59 Western Indonesia Time, whilst the number of ferry trips at Gilimanuk Harbour totalled 220 trips,” he said in a statement in Banyuwangi, East Java, on Saturday.
Meanwhile, 6,066 two-wheeled vehicles and 3,573 four-wheeled vehicles crossed from Gilimanuk to Ketapang. Trucks crossing numbered 2,154 units, whilst buses totalled 383 units, bringing the total number of vehicles crossing from Bali to Java at Gilimanuk Harbour on Eid Eve Minus 8 to 12,176 units.
By contrast, total passengers crossing from Java to Bali on Eid Eve Minus 8 reached 26,173 people, representing a 6.2 per cent increase compared with 24,640 people in the same period last year.
“Total vehicles crossing from Java to Bali on Eid Eve Minus 8 numbered 5,365 units, up 2.5 per cent compared with 5,235 units in the same period last year,” Arief stated.
