The Association of Regional Development Banks (Asbanda) has reaffirmed its commitment to driving regional economic growth through the organisation of the National Simpeda Savings Draw by Regional Development Banks Across Indonesia (BPDSI) for Period 2 of Year XXXVI – 2026 in Surakarta.

The event, taking place from 16 to 17 April 2026, serves as a crucial moment in bolstering the role of Regional Development Banks (BPD) as strategic partners to local governments.

In addition to the National Simpeda Draw, the series of activities includes the National BPDSI Seminar themed “Strengthening the Role of BPD as Strategic Partners to Local Governments through Financing Innovation and Regional Loans”.

This theme underscores that enhancing the financing sector is key to accelerating development and economic growth in the regions. The event is attended by BPD leadership and executives from across Indonesia, reflecting strong synergy in supporting nationally driven, region-based development agendas.

The national seminar, held at the Ballroom of Hotel Sunan in Surakarta, provides a strategic forum for exchanging insights and experiences among stakeholders in the regional banking sector. In his keynote speech, Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi emphasised the importance of collaboration between local governments and BPD to strengthen development financing.

Speakers also highlighted the strategic role of BPD in supporting productive sectors through adaptive and sustainable financing innovations, as well as optimising regional loan schemes to expedite the realisation of development programmes.

Several speakers offered comprehensive perspectives, including Adriyanto, Director of Regional Financing and Economy at the Ministry of Finance, who discussed national priority programmes and regional performance evaluations, and Siti Chomzah from the Ministry of Home Affairs, who reviewed the effectiveness of Regional Fund Transfers (TKD). Editor-in-Chief of Infobank Magazine, Eko B. Supriyanto, also provided strategic insights on future challenges and opportunities in the regional banking industry.

The interactive panel discussion delved into various challenges and opportunities faced by BPD in performing financial intermediation functions in the regions. Participants had the opportunity to engage directly in dialogue with speakers to deepen their understanding of strategies for strengthening BPD’s role.

Adding to the event’s vibrancy, representatives from Bank bjb’s board of directors, led by Director of Consumer & Retail Nunung Suhartini, attended as a show of support for synergy among BPDs. This presence reaffirms Bank bjb’s commitment to strengthening the regional banking ecosystem.

Meanwhile, the National Simpeda Savings Draw, held at the Ballroom of Hotel Alila Surakarta on 17 April 2026, is one of the most anticipated main agendas for customers.

This programme serves as appreciation for customers while also being a strategy to increase interest in saving with BPD. The Simpeda Draw offers total prizes of up to Rp3 billion per period, which is a significant attraction for the public.

Simpeda Savings itself is a flagship BPD product that continues to record positive growth. As of the end of December 2025, the number of customers reached 8.32 million with a total balance of Rp72.54 trillion, representing a 5.68 per cent growth compared to the previous period. In this year’s draw, 19 Bank bjb customers won prizes totalling Rp129 million.

Through the organisation of the National Simpeda Draw and the National Seminar, Asbanda is optimistic about continuing to strengthen BPD’s position as the engine of regional economic growth. Increasingly solid synergy among BPDs and ongoing innovations, including in banking service digitalisation, are expected to drive inclusive and sustainable regional development, delivering tangible benefits to the wider community.
