Asabri Realises IDR 167 Billion in Death Insurance Benefits for 2025

State-owned enterprise PT Asabri (Persero) has realised the payment of benefits under its Death Insurance Programme (JKm), valued at over IDR 167 billion, to more than 8,400 beneficiaries throughout 2025. Director of Institutional Relations at Asabri, Khaidir Abdurrahman, stated that the JKm benefits are provided to the heirs of active participants who died due to causes other than work accidents or specific service-related incidents. “For Asabri, protection does not stop with the participants; it also encompasses the families they leave behind,” Khaidir said in an official statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday. He stated that the programme is a component of social protection for TNI soldiers, members of the Indonesian National Police, and civil servants within the Ministry of Defence and the National Police, aimed at helping to sustain the livelihoods of the participants’ families. According to him, the JKm benefits include a lump-sum death benefit (SKS), a funeral allowance (UDW) equivalent to three times the participant’s last basic salary, and educational scholarships for a maximum of two children of the participant. Khaidir expressed hope that the scholarship assistance would help maintain the continuity of the participants’ children’s education after the family loses its primary breadwinner. “Children’s education is a key concern within the JKm programme benefits. We hope the scholarship assistance provided can help sustain the schooling of the participants’ children,” he remarked. He mentioned that the distribution of benefits is carried out through the ‘5T’ service principles, namely Timely, Targeted Recipient, Correct Amount, Correct Address, and Orderly Administration. The company continues to develop services based on information technology and optimal fund management to ensure benefits are received precisely, transparently, and accountably by participants or their heirs. One recipient of the JKm programme benefits, Asri Sabani, stated that the assistance her family received helped sustain their livelihood following the death of her husband, Colonel Budiyanto, who was last stationed at the Sahli F Koarmada RI in Jakarta. “We are very grateful for the assistance from Asabri, which can ease our journey ahead, especially in raising our children,” Asri said. The benefits, including the Old Age Savings and JKm, along with the scholarship assistance, were disbursed in a relatively short time through a Bank Woori Saudara account.
