State-owned insurer PT Asabri (Persero) has prepared three strategic initiatives to strengthen the company’s financial health through the settlement of assets from court rulings that have permanent legal force (inkracht), the payment of Unfunded Past Service Liability (UPSL), and adjustments to the Old-Age Savings Programme (THT) premiums. Asabri President Director Jeffry Haryadi P Manullang stated that these three initiatives are necessary to reinforce the company’s financial health while ensuring the sustainability of fulfilling participants’ rights. “We require continuous support from Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives,” Jeffry said during a Hearing Meeting with Commission VI at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday. Jeffry explained that Asabri is currently coordinating with the Attorney General’s Office, the Ministry of Finance, and Danantara to obtain inkracht assets from the company’s investment cases. Secondly, assets ruled to be confiscated for the state, but which serve as collateral from the company’s investments, are also being pursued. Both types of assets are expected to be utilised as additional investment capital for the company. “We hope these can be immediately granted to Asabri as additional capital for us, investment funds for us to manage,” he said. In addition to resolving inkracht assets, Asabri is also pushing for the acceleration of the UPSL payment amounting to Rp5.17 trillion, which the government has recognised in the Central Government Financial Report (LKPP) as a liability to the company.
